The Wyfe of Bathe

Wyfe of bathe

The Wife of Bathe was an okay story. What I got from it is that you should be grateful for what you get. He raped a girl and then got a chance to redeem himself by finding out what women want, he did that and made a promise to the women who told him. I followed through with his promise but in an unwilling way. Then his wife gave him a second chance by letting him chose how he wanted her to be. I that him doing what the Queen said and keeping his promise he followed the rules. But when it came to his wife he promised her that he would do whatever she said and all she truly wanted was for him to marry and love her for who she was but he truly did not. I think people really pay attention what outward looks. From a book to how a person looks. I truly believe the saying you should not judge a book by its cover because it applies to all aspects of life. Like Serial Killers you would never know that they would kill a person by there outward appearance most of the time. They could be the most well dressed person you know, but truly you never know what is going on in a persons mind. When He told his wife he did not care which ever one would make her happy, she knew exactly what he wanted and gave it to him. He gets all excited about her new looks he doesn’t even care about the personality or anything. I bet later own he will care when she breaks his heart. I just think take a second look at the inside of a person before you judge them.

How does this reflect the Middle Ages? I would discuss how the knight obeyed / disobeyed the laws of chivalry.

Leave me another comment when you have added this.
